When I graduated from dental school in 2009 I was excited to be a dentist. I wanted to educate patients about their oral health and change the world one smile at a time. I became an Associate dentist and immersed myself in anything dental related. I went to every continuing education I could afford (I was over $250,000 in debt from dental school). I found other colleagues with more experience and learned everything I could from them.

Fast forward to 2013. I was rethinking my life’s choices. I would come home from the profession I loved so much back in 2009 and I realized it was no longer enjoyable. Quitting dentistry was not an option. I had astronomical school loans and two small children. I could not, I would not give up. After all, I had loved it once and just needed to take a step back and figure out why I was no longer satisfied. I eventually had that “ah-ha” moment. It wasn’t dentistry; I didn’t enjoy it was the environment I was in. It was sucking the life force out of me.

I decided to branch out on my own because I wanted to create a different kind of dental office. I wanted to deliver quality dentistry while creating an environment where patients enjoy coming to the dentist. I wanted to get rid of that sterile ambiance where nobody remembers who you are. Working for someone else allowed me to figure out how things should not be done. I would just have to change everything I had been exposed to over the first three years of my dental life.

We have added more dental services to better serve our patients. My staff and I have been to countless trainings to keep current with the latest information. We continuously update and add new technology to minimize the amount of time patients must sit in a dental chair and increase patient comfort. While we may not be perfect, we are constantly evolving. As a team we are creating more efficient systems and reassessing what works and what could be improved.

Now, I can honestly say I love what I do and the crew I do it with. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

My name is Dr. Cassie Fede and I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of New Mexico and attended dental school at Oregon Health and Science University. Considering that I am the Secretary of the Albuquerque District Dental Society, a member of the New Mexico Dental Association and a member of the American Dental Association, it’s safe to say that I am an all-around dental nerd!

I love everything about dentistry; the patients, the complexity, my fantastic staff and even the everyday stress of management. My dental skills and information are current.
